Thefts prompt review of medical gas security

Staff are being asked to be extra vigilant with medical gases after Suffolk Police advised that a van from Norfolk has been used to target Nitrous Oxide from NHS premises in Scunthorpe, Loth, Grantham and Stamford areas.

Details of the van are not known at this present time but the police will update once more information is released.

Last year the police made a number of arrests where two gangs (one from Norfolk and one with a Norfolk connection) were involved.

Please ensure that medical gases are stored securely and that this is kept under review.

If you have any concerns in relation to this, please raise them with your local managers who will liaise with Anne Wright, our Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS) and/or Estates to find a resolution.
