Get involved and register your place at the EEAST staff engagement forum

Side of RRV with lozenge

Since Robert Morton joined us as Chief Executive he has been hosting a number of engagement forums with staff, clinicians, managers and volunteers to get their views about EEAST. And our next one is scheduled for Thursday, 10th March.

Robert will open the day by reflecting on some of the topics you raised at our last event, and more importantly updating on what’s been done – but then the reigns will be handed over to you! We’ll be asking you to delve into some of the big ticket items on EEAST’s agenda, like our cultural audit, the upcoming CQC inspection and our new operating model, and work together with us to find some long term solutions (as well as some ‘quick wins’).

Those with us on the day will also get to hear from the executive and non-executive team, first-hand, about our objectives for 2016/17 – so what we’re doing, where we’re going, and how we’ll get there.

The event will be at the Hallmark Hotel Cambridge in Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire (CB23 8EU) from 10am – 3.30pm. Places are limited and we have allocated a specific number of places to each service area to ensure we get representation from across the organisation. Ideally, we want to get attendance from as many staff as possible, and preferably those who have not attended a previous event.

To apply for a place please email EEASTevents@eastamb.nhs.uk; provide your job title, area of the Trust you work in (for example, PTS, EOC, etc.) and if you have any dietary or other requirements.

Notes on travel

In the first instance attendees should use a service vehicle and share transport where available and practical to do so.

Notes on time

Colleagues released from normal working hours are already receiving remuneration for the time and are therefore not eligible to submit any claim. Where the time attended at the event, including travel time, is less that the person’s normal working pattern on that day then they should return to work to complete their working hours or bank those hours to be worked back at a mutually convenient time.

Where colleagues attend on their off-duty time they will be eligible to claim TOIL for the time of attendance of the event and travel time. Where the line manager confirms that they are unable to grant TOIL due to the demand on the service/any urgent matters arising, then the staff member will be eligible to claim overtime at the appropriate rates. In the interest of staff safety, staff are not encouraged to attend the event if their attendance would fall in a rest period between two 12-hour night shifts. Travel time is defined as the time taken to travel to and return from the event from your normal work base or home, whichever is the closer of the two.
