Good for the sole: Magnum boots available to order again

Magnum boots

As of today (16th March), staff will once again be able to step out in the specialist footwear of their choice as Magnum boots make a return to the Trust.

Due to financial pressures, the decision was taken in the autumn to limit our emergency service footwear to Cobra boots, as we already hold a lot of these. But after feedback from staff, the Trust is putting Magnum boots firmly back on the table (here’s hoping none of you are superstitious), and they can now be reordered again as replacement boots.

The Magnums will be available in addition to the existing Cobra product, so staff will be able to choose whichever they prefer when they come to replace their boots. For the time being, new starters will continue to be given the Cobra version that the Trust has in stock.

The Magnums, which were first launched in the 1970s, will be offered in calf or ankle height and staff will also be able to choose whether they’d like the boots fastened by zips or laces. They’re water resistant, have a high-traction and slip-resistant sole, and a composite toe cap to protect the wearer in all conditions. The majority of styles will be available in sizes 3-15.
