Grazia cover for EEAST paramedic

Sarah Blanchard is on the cover of the latest issue of Grazia magazine as part of a feature piece on four frontline NHS workers talking about the job they do and explaining how the coronavirus pandemic is impacting their work.

Based in Harlow, Sarah has been with EEAST for three years and is currently a paramedic awaiting registration. Sarah said, ‘a friend of mine knows one of the other people involved and happened to mention that they knew a paramedic. The magazine called and agreed to get involved.

"They understood that everyone was busy. The whole thing was really well organised to make it easy for us. The photoshoot took place at Whipps Cross and for the whole half an hour the photographer and I were at a safe distance from each other. The interview was carried out over the phone after I’d finished a day shift.

"The article obviously includes key messages and reminds readers to stay at home. But hopefully it will give people something slightly different to talk about too. We are all anxious at the moment and there’s no getting away from what’s happening whether you’re at work or at home. It’s hard knowing your colleagues, friends and family are feeling this way so if it also makes a few people smile it will have been worth it."
