Making Harry's visit to EEAST special - thank you!

Harry's visit to Longwater

A very special toddler from Norfolk who is fascinated with all things emergency service has become one of the region’s youngest potential recruits after a visit one of our ambulance stations.

Two-year-old Harry, having already visited police and fire services, got the chance to meet crews at Longwater on 13th March thanks to EMT Kirsty Bolton.

Harry was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma in 2018. Harry is currently having immunotherapy but his family are fundraising to help Harry access potentially life-saving treatments in the USA.

The crews welcomed joined by Harry and his parents where he was presented with an EEAST bag, ‘ID’ badge and even his very own ambulance service uniform.

Kirsty and colleagues were able to show Harry inside an ambulance and around the station, and Leading Operations Manager (LOM) Colin Mayes showed Harry the Duty Locality Officer (DLO) car. Harry was especially excited when he got to see the blue lights!

A special thanks to Paramedic Sharon Penska who made the bags and Student Paramedic Fran Lambert who made the ID badge for Harry!

You can read more about Harry's appeal here and any donations can be made there, to Kirsty Bolton or to Sharon Penska.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Harry's visit to EEAST special!
