Help us take on volunteer takeover week!

CFR training Sophie and Carl

The life-saving work of our community first responders (CFRs) will be celebrated next week.

There are almost 300 CFR groups across the region and the Trust will be highlighting their efforts during National Volunteers’ Week, which runs until 12th June.

During CFR takeover week, which starts on 6th June, the important work of our volunteers will be celebrated and members of the public will be urged to sign-up to help groups in their communities.

The communications team will be promoting the work of CFRs during the week through the Trust’s Twitter and Facebook accounts and media outlets.

As part of volunteers’ week, we are also promoting the work of our volunteer car drivers, Trust User Group, critical care volunteers, and many more.

Some of the highlights of the forthcoming week include:

  • press releases to media and web articles to encourage new CFRs to come forward
  • a CFR recruitment event on Wednesday (8th), from 6-8pm at Luton ambulance station
  • live Periscope CFR chat on Friday (10th)
  • a blog every day from a CFR
  • launch of new CFR group in Mulbarton, Norfolk, on Saturday (11th)
  • new community defibrillator launched by Freethorpe CFR group in Norfolk
  • a donation of new equipment and training space for Stanford and Corringham CFRs in Essex.

For those on Twitter, please use the hashtag #CFRtakeover when promoting your groups. Let’s get #CFRtakeover trending!

Please email adam.gretton@eastamb.nhs.uk if your group has anything planned during the week that you’d like to share.
