How we respond at multi-agency incidents: JESIP wants your feedback

The emergency services will usually be the first to arrive at the scene of a major incident.

To achieve the best possible outcomes for the patients involved, all services and responders will need to be able to work together effectively as soon as they arrive on scene.

Back in 2012, JESIP (Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Programme) was set up to look at just that - improving the way the police, fire and rescue, and ambulance services work together when responding to major multi-agency incidents.

The programme is now introducing a Joint Doctrine which, put simply, will set out the way responders should train and operate. It will be built upon common terminology, principles and ways of working, so all three emergency services can use, understand and share this one piece of guidance  – and the JESIP team wants your views on the draft version.

The consultation to get feedback from all three emergency services will run until 2^nd May, and you can find more information on how to take part and share your views on the JESIP website.
