How you can support Don’t Choose to Abuse campaign

Blurred ambulance

Next week, the Trust will launch a new public campaign to highlight the unacceptable face of emergency care.

Don’t Choose to Abuse will shine a spotlight on the verbal and physical abuse operational and EOC colleagues face on a daily basis.

In 2016/17 more than 250 physical assaults were recorded against staff – an increase of 10 per cent from the previous year.

A survey of EEAST staff also revealed more than 75 per cent of respondents said they received verbal abuse regularly or every shift.

We want to spread the word far and wide about the campaign to make as many members of the public as possible aware of it. You can sign-up to a social media synchronised message called a Thunderclap, which will post the Don’t Choose to Abuse message on your social media on 1st December.
