‘I have nothing but praise for the ambulance staff’

Patients have expressed their gratitude to staff in recent patient surveys.

In May, 111 patients responded to questionnaires, followed on by an additional 98 in June. Nearly 90 per cent of patients were very satisfied with the overall care they received from the EEAST staff. Results from the latest reports show all of the respondents felt they were treated with dignity and respect, with attitude of staff also reaching nearly 100 per cent.

Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Nursing and Clinical Quality, Sandy Brown said: “I am very proud of staff for the service they provide to our patients in a caring and professional manner. It is extremely important we listen to our patients to ensure we share good practice and learn from the times where we haven’t fulfilled their expectations. The feedback we get from patients is always consistently high and the compliments received always far exceed the amount of complaints. I am really thankful that patients take the time to provide positive feedback to our excellent staff.”

A patient in Cambridgeshire commented the ‘service was perfect and paramedics were kind and understanding’.

In Essex, a patient stated they ‘have nothing but praise for the ambulance staff, they were professional, reassuring, and I know that I was in good hands’.

A patient in Norfolk also praised staff in his comments, stating ‘super staff, 999 call handling and 111 good, they phoned to say how long the ambulance might be’.
