#IMPACT event reaches 50th milestone

50th Impact Event at KES Dale Meacham Roberts 01 05 2019

Last week the #IMPACT campaign reached a milestone figure by holding its 50th event in King’s Lynn.

#IMPACT, a safe driving campaign targeted at young drivers, goes out to schools and demonstrates just what happens at the scene of an road traffic collision with Ambulance, Fire and Police teams all taking on their roles as they would at a real RTC.

Students have the opportunity to observe a crashed car demonstration with volunteers experiencing what is involved in having emergency services work to free them from a vehicle.  The students then feedback on what they’ve experienced at the event and make a pledge about driving safely.

Dale Meacham-Roberts, Leading Operations Manager for Central Norfolk and #IMPACT Project Lead said “Thank you to Carley and Dave from the EEAST Team but also thanks to the Longwater AFA Team, Claire in Commercial Services and Finance for making the project successful and helping us reach this 50th event milestone.”

Since its launch in 2017, IMPACT has reached 5,500 young people in Norfolk.

Fantastic work by all who’ve been involved throughout the project so far.
