Informatics: The Information Team

The Information Team are a vital part of the wider informatics team. But did you know, as well as working with data from both the 999 and PTS CAD systems, they also:

  • work with data from the EPCR, ECAT systems and in the future data from Fleet
  • produce over 10 manual reports each Monday to distribute internally and externally
  • send out over 100 automated reports, internally and externally, that can include daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly data. Some of these reports are sent as part of our contractual obligations
  • set up feeds that send information directly to third parties, some several times a day.
  • provide reports that are available on the Portal reporting system, these include live wallboards and incident monitoring reports.
  • deal with access requests for reports via the service desk and Power Bi
  • look in to requests, either on an ad hoc basis or via freedom of information
  • provide ‘face to face’ support and training to operational teams during development of new reporting datasets, for example COVID-19
  • submit national submissions and ensure that contractual reporting is provided on time.

Alongside all this, the team is now building reports in Microsoft Power Bi so you can obtain the information easily by ‘self-service’ as and when it is needed. These new reports can be viewed on any device including mobile phones, iPads, or laptops making the data truly mobile and accessible.

The information team is also implementing a new request process where you will need to complete a request form for any new report. This enables the team’s experts to view your request and explore the best visual solutions to ensure you get the most out of the data.
