Invite to EAAA's clinical air ambulance day

The East Anglian Air Ambulance are once again inviting colleagues here at EEAST to attend their latest clinical governance day – a day completely dedicated to case studies, discussion, and joint learning.

Taking place on Friday (10th April) in Bury St Edmunds, the team will be discussing a number of specific incidents they’ve attended; on the agenda this time is a hypothermia cardiac arrest case, a session on research and development and a look at evidence for and against pre-hospital blood products.

The event is running at South Lee School (IP33 2BT) and will open to EEAST staff at 10.15am (directions at the bottom of this article).

10:15 - Research and development

11:00 - Hypothermia cardiac arrest case

11:40 - Evidence for and against pre-hospital blood products; and ‘buddy lite’ training

12:40 - Lunch

13:30 - Review of blood product use for east of England (in advance of retrieval conference presentation); and cardiac arrest audit

14:00 - Trauma unit capabilities (network)

14:30 - Case presentation: two traumatic cardiac arrests and trauma unit review

15:30 - Airway kit dump Hungarian style

16:00 - Hemsbase update and incident review

DIRECTIONS: From the A14, take the Bury St Edmunds East slip-road and follow the sign A143 Haverhill/A134 Sudbury. Go straight over the next two roundabouts and turn left at the third, signposted South Lee School. At the fork in the road, keep left. The school is then on the right hand side.

On entry to the school sports ground, take a sharp left and follow the track round the back of the large sports hall and park at the end. You will the pavilion on the right hand side.
