COVID-19 Isolation Guidance

COVID-19

On Monday 16 August, the Public Health England isolation guidance for people who come into contact with positive COVID cases is changing, but please note the same processes will remain in place at EEAST for the time being and will be reviewed next week.

Please continue to contact your Covid lead and local manager if you are a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case and they will advise accordingly. You must not come to work if you are a contact of a positive COVID case until you have completed the isolation exemption referral process and been approved.

Covid working safely guidelines also remain in place as EEAST had 155 positive cases in July and 67 so far for August. Therefore please:

  • socially distance where possible
  • wear masks on stations, in medical settings and in cabs
  • work behind screens where necessary
  • follow good hand hygiene
  • decontaminate work areas more frequently
  • use fresh air ventilation where possible
  • work from home if possible
  • conduct regular LFT testing
  • wear level 2 PPE as a minimum with all patients unless higher level PPE is needed

This list is not exhaustive, but all current COVID measures must continue to be adhered to.

Further communication will be issued once the Ambulance regulatory bodies have reviewed documentation and amendments to process are agreed.
