Jamie’s 999 Challenge for Mind

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic we have all had plans cancelled that we were looking forward to. As well as holidays, days out and dinner reservations, these cancellations included charity fundraising events.

Charities across the country have experienced reduced funding due to the cancellation of high-profile events including the London and Brighton marathons, which would usually bring in much needed sponsorship money.

Resilience Manager Jamie Fountain decided he would like to do his bit, by raising money for the charity Mind, which includes their Blue Light programme. Jamie says, ‘Inevitably the Covid-19 pandemic will have an impact on the mental health of emergency services personnel, and health and social care workers. Whatever your occupation, Mind is there to make sure that no one has to face mental health problems alone’.

Jamie has set himself a 999 challenge, which he will complete over the summer. It will consist of the following:

  • 999m run
  • 9.99km paddle board
  • 999 steps in 25kg Ambulance HART breathing apparatus

If you would like to sponsor Jamie on his 999 challenge, please donate on his Just Giving page.
