It is with much sadness that we share news of the death of James (Jimmy) Brownfield, after a long illness.

Jimmy was a Knight of Grace of The Order, a former deputy chief commander for St John Ambulance, county commander and commissioner for Suffolk, and was a close partner to EEAST in many projects over the years. He will be known by many teams in the service, and perhaps best remembered here for his work on ambulance support and the Crusader vehicle project.

Jimmy’s funeral will take place next Friday (9th September):

  • 2.30pm: funeral service at St Margaret's Church, Lowestoft. All welcome.
  • 4pm: private committal at Gorleston Crematorium
  • 30pm: refreshments at St. John Ambulance Hall, Oxford Road, Lowestoft. All welcome.

If you’ve been affected by Jimmy’s death, please remember that the Trust’s employee assistance programme is available at any time to provide you with support should you need it. It’s free, confidential, runs 24/7 and can be accessed either on the phone or online. Just visit www.well-online.co.uk (user name: EEASTlogin, password: wellbeing), or call 0800 085 1376.
