JRCALC New Guidelines Released

We're pleased to announce that we have now taken delivery of the JRCALC Clinical Practice Supplementary Guidelines 2017. These guidelines complement the UK Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines 2016. You'll find valuable minor amendments and updates, but most importantly, significant new guidance.

These include Sepsis, maternal and obstetric emergencies and caring for an ageing population.

All the guidance presented by JRCALC supports thoughtful delivery of care by professionals rather than following of flowcharts and protocols.

We will also be distributing to all clinical staff the new version of the JRCALC clinical practice guidelines 2017 pocket book.

The pocket book is intended to be used by clinicians working in the prehospital setting to confirm safe and therapeutic drug doses prior to administration, it also contains treatment algorithms and management plans that are intended to be used as a quick reference guide only. As such it is designed to be used in conjunction with the reference edition of the UK Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines 2016 which contain the definitive text that cannot be reproduced in the pocket book.

Both publications will be distributed through your local management teams and both will require signing for. Can you please ensure that all old versions of the pocket guidelines have been disposed of.
