Keep hydrated through the summer heat!

With more than 7,000 calls to the service over Saturday and Sunday, the summer weather is well and truly here to stay.

While temperatures continue to remain the late 20s throughout the week, we’re asking all of you to keep hydrated, wear sun-cream in case you’re attending an incident outside, and have sunglasses on hand for driving in bright conditions. Remember to you can take your white t-shirts off if too hot.

If you’re in a Trust building like EOC or are on a vehicle with air conditioning, check it’s working properly and notify estates or fleet respectively if you notice any problems.

Even though it’s hot, please make sure that windows and doors at station and depots aren’t left open when no one from the Trust is on site.

Kevin Brown, Director of Service Delivery said: “Although we all welcome the sunshine, it’s brought with it a high level of demand. It was no easy time to work over the weekend and I’d like to extend my thanks to all of you who were on shift and have continued to deliver quality care to all of our patients.”
