Keeping your patients safe whilst travelling

Staff are reminded of the importance of belting up following a number of recent incidents involving seated patients.

Significant injuries have been suffered after patients were thrown from their seat following a sharp deceleration of the ambulance whilst being transported to hospital.

To avoid this, please ensure that anyone being conveyed in a Trust vehicle is wearing a seat belt, or is secured to the stretcher to avoid any further harm.

This is to ensure we are compliant with British road law and to keep staff and passengers safe whilst travelling in EEAST vehicles.
