Kitchen chemistry goes with a bang

Kitchen chemistry evening HART

On Tuesday (29th Septembera training session was delivered to Trust staff, at the Melbourn HART base, around the risks of homemade explosives.

The session included case history incidents and gave examples of the different household materials which have previously been used to create an explosive device. There was also discussion about how unstable some mixtures of different chemicals can be, and the risk to emergency responders when they enter a property, which has these lying around, to treat a patient.
