Last few days to have your say about paramedic band 6 job description

As you know, a national job description for band 6 paramedics has been drafted by NHS employers and unions.

All affected EEAST staff have been emailed about this latest development so if this is you, please share your feedback as part of the consultation.

The consultation period for commenting on the job description ends on Tuesday (1st May)  - after that, the Band 6 Implementation Group will review and finalise the job description which will then be put forward to a Job Matching Panel (which consists of UNISON and management) for assessment.

All constructive feedback and/or comments should be emailed to and

Once the outcome of the job matching panel is known, the Trust is required to review this by a Consistency Checking Panel (UNISON and management representative) in keeping with National Guidance. The outcome and banding, with a copy of the job description, will then be sent to all affected staff.

A brief survey has also been set up by the Trust’s Education and Training Team to understand the level of qualifications across the Trust, update records, and identify any future needs that may be required.

Complete the survey here:

So far, uptake has been low for both filling in the survey and emailing any feedback about the consultation -  if you are a qualified paramedic and would like to give your opinion on the consultation, please do so by Tuesday
