Laura achieves compliance award

Laura Palmer compliance award

Laura Palmer has become the first person in the Trust to be awarded for consistent compliance for the clinical support desk (CSD), after achieving 25 consecutive audits of 98 – 100% compliance.

The in-house awards progress from bronze to platinum and were brought in following a redesign to the audit and training team last October.

Laura, who’s based at Norwich Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) was presented with her bronze award by Senior EOC Manager Brett Norton and is now working towards her silver award.

Brett said: “This is an excellent achievement and I am very pleased for Laura. She has shown real dedication to patient care and I am sure there will be many more clinicians following in her footsteps.”

Clinicians are audited in accordance with the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch on 3% of completed telephone triage calls in a week, chosen at random. The audit process covers all areas of the call, including patient care, adherence to local policy care, as well as the clinical effectiveness and compliance of the audit.

Audits are a way of supporting and maintaining high compliance for all clinicians by continued development and training provided specifically for telephone triage. The audit feedback is given on a weekly basis and adds to their continued professional development.
