Leadership Message from Dorothy Hosein

Dorothy Hosein_2019

I hope you are all well and looking forward to the sunnier weather we have been promised. To all of those that I have had the pleasure of meeting in recent weeks in Thetford, Hellesdon, Hinchingbrooke and Colchester, thank you for your feedback and warm welcome. I hope to meet many more of you as I continue my travels around our region.

I have meetings planned with the chief executives of our most challenged acutes, to ensure that I am doing all I can on behalf of you and our patients, to improve the delays we experience at A&E. Following the success of our joint work at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, I am keen to develop this in other parts of the region and aspire to EEAST becoming a system lead in the East of England's health environment.

I am looking forward to our next Leading Operations Manager (LOM) 'Listening Event' on Monday 24th June in Melbourn and hope that many of you will be available to attend. I recognise the challenges of the past structure changes and am committed to finding a solution that works, based on the feedback from these engagement sessions.

Our communications team are currently in the process of planning this year’s award ceremony. We are using the comments from those that attended last year, to ensure this year’s ceremony is a fitting tribute and celebration. The nominations for the special award categories open very soon, so please look out for more information on NeedtoKnow soon. If you believe you should be receiving a long service award, please get in contact with the awards team at awards@eastamb.nhs.uk, so that we can ensure you receive your medal.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Sarah for her dedication to EEAST over the years. She will be greatly missed and I wish her every success with her future plans.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

Dorothy
