Leadership message from Dorothy Hosein

Dorothy Hosein

I want to thank you all again for your hard work over recent weeks, the additional shifts you have covered have made a real difference to the service we were able to provide to our patients. You will have noted we have released more incentives to continue for the next few weeks and I really appreciate any help you have been able to provide with these.

I had the pleasure of meeting staff in Watford and Hemel Hempstead last week. I was extremely excited to be greeted by so much positivity. Casey, Tabitha and their staff demonstrated commitment and an innovative approach to meeting compliance and supporting each other. I was hugely impressed that staff were on station in their own time to attend training. Well done and great to meet you all, I look forward to seeing you again soon.

I understand that CQC inspectors may be visiting our colleagues at some of the acute trusts over the next few weeks and they may wish to chat with you. Please take the opportunity where you can to share the great work we are doing with our HALO colleagues.

I received an email of recommendation for Colin Moy this week. He has worked tirelessly in his role as a paramedic and in the Police Force to ensure that a successful prosecution for an individual who assaulted our staff recently. Thank you, Colin. We all really appreciate everything you have done. We absolutely will not tolerate violence against our staff #dontchoosetoabuse.

Finally, I would like to mention Josh, a student paramedic from University of Suffolk, whom sadly was involved in an accident whilst observing on a shift with us at the weekend. I am sure you will join me in wishing him best wishes for a speedy recovery from all his green family. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff who provided excellent care to Josh, during what were extremely difficult circumstances. I understand that the care and professionalism delivered was exceptional – so thank you.

Winter is still upon us, so please make sure you look after your wellbeing as our patients need you.

With best regards,
