Leadership message from Dr Tom Davis

This is one of the easier Leadership Messages I have written as the main theme this week is simply to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who works for or supports EEAST to care for our patients.

We have been managing the pandemic for close to a year and still staff and volunteers continue to go above and beyond what is expected. So we are spending this week saying thank you internally and encouraging the public to pass on their gratitude as well.

We have received some fantastic responses from local celebrities, including national treasure Stephen Fry, Jake Humphrey, Gryff Rhys Jones and Norwich City Football Club. These have been shared throughout the week with more today and tomorrow. Look out for some other famous face thank you's on our East24 site. The Chair and I have also been on the media highlighting the great work you do every day.

We’ve also been revisiting some of our past ‘hidden gem’ staff award winners and publishing a selection of the compliments we receive on social media at #ThanksTeamEEAST.

This week is also a good time to remind ourselves of our Trust’s values of care, teamwork, quality, respect and honesty, which are at the heart of everything we do.

We hope this week will give you a bit of a boost during what has been, and will continue to be, an incredibly demanding period.

Before I finish, can I also remind you to please get your Covid vaccination by the end of the week. Over 70 percent of staff have now been jabbed, but we need everyone protected. All the information is on Need to Know.
