As you will be all too aware, Coronavirus continues to dominate not only the news and political agenda, but also our working and personal lives.
Amongst the latest debate over lockdown restrictions and Covid-passports, it could be easy to forget the basic steps we should be taking every day to stay safe - and protect our patients, family, and colleagues.
These steps are:
You have all done really well on these fronts so far but, despite infection levels falling, we need to dig in and continue this effort to keep us all safe and well. As restrictions lift and shops and pubs reopen, we must stay vigilant and continue to follow safety practices and PPE guidance. All the latest Covid-related information and advice is on Need to Know - including the range of wellbeing support available.
To end, I would like to mention our work to improve the culture here at EEAST, especially around behaviour. Supporting staff to speak up and speak out, and resolving issues quickly, are making small but significant shifts every day. However, with even one case of bullying and harassment being one too many, we know we have a long way to go. Throughout April, senior leaders will be dropping into Team’s meetings and making Covid-secure visits to hear your views on how we can best support positive change. If this happens in your areas, please do take the opportunity to speak up.
Take care and stay safe.
