Leadership message from Emma De-Carteret

Emma De-Carteret

I hope you are well and have been making the most of this summery weather. Speaking of summer, in July the Board focus on our Annual General Meeting, which is an opportunity for us to showcase our achievements and the work we have undertaken in the 2018/19 financial year, but also the areas of work we are focusing on in the coming year.

The Annual General Meeting is being held on Wednesday 24 July 2019 from 13:30 in Melbourn, where the Board will present the Annual Report and Quality Account and have an opportunity for questions. There will also be a number of stands, manned by our staff members from 12:30, which will showcase areas we are proud of. These include learning from incidents, safety huddles, non-emergency services, the new ambulance, the wellbeing bus and many other areas.

I really would encourage you to read more about it and if you can, please come. Just let us know that you are planning on attending, so we are aware of numbers.

You may be aware, that over the last few weeks there have been a number of changes to the Trust Board, with us saying goodbye to Chair Sarah Boulton, as well as two of our longstanding Non-Executive Directors; Peter Kara and Andrew Egerton-Smith. I am sad to see them go, as they have been ever-present advocates for us over the past few years.

However, we are very pleased to welcome our Interim Chair, Nigel Beverley, and our new Non-Executive Directors Wendy Thomas, Carolan Davidge and Neville Hounsome. Over the coming weeks and months, you will see them out and about, and of course, they will be at our Board and Committee meetings.

Finally, I’d also like to take the opportunity to echo Dorothy’s message earlier this week, welcoming Yasmin Rafiq as Interim Director of People and Culture.

Thank you again for everything that you do - I hope to see some of you at the AGM.

Emma
