The Suffolk Child Death Review Team would like to invite you to their second ‘Learning from Children’s Deaths’ sessions.

This year, they are holding 4 sessions across the week. Each session will begin with the speakers listed below, followed by a Q&A.

Date - October 11th to 15th 2021 Time - 10 am to 11:30am

Monday 11th October

Losing a Child to Suicide
  1. Fiona Tuomey – after losing her daughter to suicide Fiona set up HUGG, a suicide bereavement charity.
  2. Bereaved By Suicide Service (BBS) - Catherine Williams will be introducing the new Bereaved By Suicide (BBS) service

 

 

Wednesday 13th

Children with Disabilities

 

  1. Nicky Brown - Nicky will be joining us to talk about her son, Tom, and sharing her experiences with us.
  2. Luke Clements, Professor of Law and Social Justice – talking about his research, Institutionalising parent carer blame

 

Thursday 14th October

Neonatal Deaths
  1. Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB), Elaine Hide - Elaine is speaking about HSIB investigations and neonatal deaths
  2. Bob McGurrell, Chief Executive, and founder of the charity 4Louis

 

Friday 15th

October

Talking about the Death of Child
  1. Reverend Linda Peall, Head of Chaplaincy ESNEFT
  2. Sarah Price and Julie Baerwolf- Nicky’s Way, St Nicholas Hospice
