Lizzie's real-life juggling act

If you haven’t met Lizzie Martin yet, chances are you will eventually.

Not only has Lizzie been a Call Handler since April 2015, working in Norwich EOC, she is also a proactive community first responder (CFR) coordinator who looks after the Mulbarton, and Eaton and Cringleford groups. And if that’s not enough, Lizzie has now signed up to the student paramedic training program, swapping her headset for a grab-bag.

Chris Barnes, Duty EOC Officer, said: “Lizzie’s been an excellent call handler who is an asset to the Trust.

“She is sure to become a brilliant paramedic and while it’s a great loss for our team, we wish her all the very best for her new venture.”

On Lizzie’s last day, her team gave her a top notch send-off plastering her desk with good luck decorations and balloons. To top the bill Luke Baldwin, Call Handler and CFR for Costessey, also managed to organise an amazing cake baked by fellow-CFR Holly Lambert-Flude, who volunteers for Hethersett.

This show of support really amplifies what a great bunch of people make up our regional CFR groups, and our EEAST team!

Good luck in your new adventure Lizzie – see you on the road!

Remember, anyone can become a CFR; if you or someone you know would be interested in finding out more about the role, check out our website.
