Locality Director appointed for NSC

Matt Broad OPT

We’re pleased to announce that Matt Broad has been appointed as Locality Director for Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Matt, who has worked in the ambulance service for 17 years, said: “I know that you work incredibly hard across the three counties and I’m privileged to have this chance to work with you, support you, and ultimately help us all deliver the very best patient care.

“I know the area well because of my previous roles within the service and I’m pleased to have been given the opportunity to help move the service forward in NSC,” he added. “We’ve already made great strides; recruiting hundreds of student paramedics and deploying more ambulances to the frontline, and I’m determined to ensure that our service continues to move in the right direction.

Matt began his career in London before a move to Suffolk where he was based at Newmarket station. Having qualified as a paramedic, his career took him into the training and education arena followed by the Essex Clinical General Manager role and, from March last year, the service’s General Manager for Norfolk.

Chief Executive Dr Anthony Marsh said: “I am delighted that Matt has been appointed to this role. His wealth of experience is pivotal, as well as good understanding of the three counties and the different needs of the communities. I look forward to working with him as we make changes, better support staff and improve services to patients.”

Matt, who has recently completed a 999-mile charity cycle ride as a member of the Pedalling Paramedic team, will sit on the Trust Board to ensure his counties are represented at the top level of the Trust and his staff have a direct link to the Board.
