Low risk TIA pathway

Cliinical Update Icon

For a number of years the Trust has had a low-risk Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA) pathway that allowed for patients to be assessed using the ABCD2 score with a view to risk stratifying a TIA.

Last month (May 2019) NICE published its latest stroke and TIA guidance which included some changes to TIA management.

The Trust has reviewed its pathway to reflect this guidance and changes have been made with immediate effect.

A summary of the changes can be found in this Clinical Update on EAST24. This document has also been emailed to all staff.
