Move for rapid access clinic in west Essex

Blurred ambulance

The rapid access clinic (RAC) based at St Margaret’s Hospital, Epping has moved to the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) in Harlow.

Following a full review of the service and with an increase in GP referrals to the RAC, it was decided that more patients could benefit from a multidisciplinary assessment if it was based at PAH. The RAC team will also be able to see larger number of patients, including those that can be potentially streamed from A&E.

In the near future it will be possible for staff to call the RAC directly to speak to a triage nurse and have a clinician to clinician conversation. The RAC opening hours will not change, remaining as 9am – 7pm Monday to Friday.
