New ambulance station opened in Hemel Hempstead

A new era began in Hertfordshire on Friday with the opening of an ambulance station.

The Trust officially opened a brand new premises last Friday (18th September) in Hemel Hempstead, the first to be opened in Hertfordshire in recent years.

Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Locality Director Dave Fountain said it was a ‘proud day’: "We have been supported every step of the way from staff, residents, stakeholders and our MP Mike Penning. I would like to thank everyone for their efforts.”

The station will provide a better facility for staff to work from as well as being a better location from which to respond to patients locally.

Rt. Hon. Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, officially opened the station and added to the praise by saying: “It is a pleasure to see a new ambulance station in Hemel Hempstead. Following the Buncefield incident, I strongly feel that all emergency services should work hand in hand to provide the best care possible to the public and this station highlights that message.”
