New call handlers join the Bedford EOC team

We’re delighted to welcome four new emergency call handlers to Bedford EOC.

Our new recruits, who started last Friday (1st July), have just finished their foundation course training.

Welcome to EEAST Shane, Hayley, Scott and Rachael!

EOC Training Lead Phil Churchill said: “We’re delighted to welcome the new recruits. They have just finished a three week classroom based training course which has covered all the processes that they will encounter, including how to use the computer aided dispatch (CAD) and our ProQA call triage programmes.

“They have worked their way through many different scenarios to test their knowledge and skills, and are now starting to take 999 calls whilst being mentored by an experienced colleague.

“As a training team, we would like to wish them all the best, and  you for the hard work that they have put in to making this course successful”.
