New Deputy Medical Director appointed

Dr T Davis

Dr Tom Davis has been appointed as the Trust’s new Deputy Medical Director, and will join us on 29th February.

Tom, a practicing GP, joins us from NHS South Sefton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) where he was the Primary Care Transformation Lead. Tom has a broad range of NHS experience having worked for CCGs, NHS 111, GP practices and hospitals.

Chief Executive Robert Morton said: “I am delighted that Tom is joining our service. Tom brings a wealth of skills and experience which will help us as we transition to different ways of working and treating patients. This is another positive step as we look to put in place a stable and permanent leadership team that will drive forward patient care.”

The news of Tom’s appointment follows hot on the heels of the appointment of Lindsey Stafford-Scott as Director of People and Culture and Kevin Smith as Director of Finance and Commissioning as the Trust looks to recruit a permanent and stable leadership team.  Lindsey will join us in April, while Kevin has already taken up his new position. The Trust is also currently recruiting to the three remaining executive positions – Director of Strategy and Sustainability, Director of Service Delivery and Medical Director.

Dr Tom Davis said: “I am delighted to be taking up my role in the Trust and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the coming months. Already I have met members of the organisation who have inspired me with their passion, dedication and enthusiasm to do the best for the patients they serve.

“As the NHS faces a challenging time it is vital we promote the excellent care and experience patients receive on a daily basis. I am certain that together we can build on this and aspire to make EEAST a leading mobile healthcare provider in the future look NHS.”

Tom will also be taking time to attend to patients as part of his role and learning about the Trust and the services we deliver.
