New recruits ready to take calls

Eight new recruits are ready, set and raring to begin taking 999 calls, after they finished their emergency call handler training on Friday (10th October).

Following a recent recruitment drive for Norwich EOC, the latest cohort of call handlers completed their three-week training, culminating with each one answering their first live 999 call under supervision.

Training lead Phil said: “Everyone in the group has been really focussed throughout the training with each person showing real commitment.  They’ll now move forward to begin their three-week mentorship with experienced call handlers before being allowed to take 999 calls on their own.”

Best of luck everyone and welcome to the EEAST team!

A further 25 additional call handlers are due to be trained by the end of November, as part of our continuing commitment to improve care to patients.
