New shift summary envelopes pilot starts at three sites across Norfolk, mid Essex and west Essex

On 1st April a month long pilot of a new shift summary envelope will begin.

The pilot aims to respond to a number of areas identified from our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, patient care record (PCR) audits, Health and Safety Executive (HSE)  improvement notices, and staff feedback.

The new envelope will be a collation of a revised shift summary form, late finish form and the vehicle daily inspection (VDI) form into one envelope.

This single documentation will take away the current need for three separate forms and will provide a place to keep all patient care records, recognition of life extinct (ROLE) forms etc. out of public view.  It will also remove some duplication and add more audit to address identified issues.

Once the month is up, the pilot will be evaluated, and if successful it's hoped it can be rolled out across the Trust.

If you have any questions, or would like to provide any feedback, please contact the lead duty locality officer in each area:

  • West Norfolk : Owen Claydon-Nichol
  • Mid Essex : Tim Wigginton
  • West Essex : Tina Brown
