Newspaper salutes CFR co-ordinator

CFR Pam Biggs

Pam Biggs, a Community First Responder (CFR) Co-ordinator from Hitchin has been nominated for a Comet newspaper award for tireless work in her community.

The awards celebrate members of the public who have gone above and beyond to improve the quality of life in Stevenage and north Hertfordshire and winners are chosen by the public.

Pam, who has been involved with the Trust’s CFR scheme for the last 10 years, will join her fellow nominees at the awards ceremony in Stevenage on Friday 15th May.

Speaking to the Comet, Pam said: “I don’t think we are heroes. None of us do. We just want to do something for our community and try and help people. We just try and give something back.”

Community Partnership Manager Steve said: “I would like to congratulate Pam on being nominated for this award, which is thoroughly deserved. Pam has been a long-standing group coordinator, as well as a responder for the Hitchin CFR group, and I’m extremely pleased that her work has been recognised.”

Good luck to Pam for the ceremony in May!
