NHS branding and the EEAST style

Many thanks to everyone who has this year adopted the new-look branding that EEAST has needed to implement ahead of NHS England changes.

Branding changes always brings some upheaval and certainly the changes introduced earlier this year nationally brought headlines for the NHS as many view it as wasting money or having more importance than it is due.

However, the changes are introduced to reduce NHS branding and other content which can look so unlike NHS-identifiable materials, that people have every right to call into question the authenticity of it. Using uniform approaches to branding means that the public know to trust the brand when they see materials, documents, vehicle branding etc. Some branding wasn't suitable to be used online causing problems when setting up websites and other channels, and there was some confusion about style guidelines which has been made more streamlined.

What do we need you to do?

If you're creating new documents, you need to visit this page on East24 which has a range of templates to use. They can be adopted to your own needs so are kept in Word format for that reason - indeed, if you use one for something which we haven't captured and which you needed to originate yourself, please forward to communications@eastamb.nhs.uk so we can upload it because we've just uploaded the most commonly used or requested documents.

If documents or materials are spotted in circulation which don't fall within the guidelines, you will be asked to change them into the new style - and if you spot something, please forward it on!  Many people are using the new email signatures so please adopt this if you haven't already.

The wider matter of EEAST style and branding comes under the Comms Team as guardians, so please always drop a line if there's something you're unsure of e.g. accessible materials for all, checking whether materials you use are in date, and so on.
