Norfolk paramedic ‘very humbled’ after receiving honours award

Congratulations to Paramedic Michael Lord, who was presented with a Cromer Honours Award for his many years of service to people in the area.

Michael said: “I was sent a letter from the Cromer District Council, stating that my name had been put forward for a Cromer Honours award. This was very humbling and an unexpected honour.

“The lady, who had put my name forward, was so grateful when I turned up to treat her husband, who was in the last stages of his life due to terminal cancer. I knew both her and her late husband well, and achieved the wishes of her husband to remain at home and to die in peace. The amount of positive feedback from family friends and the people of north Norfolk were lovely.”

Senior Locality Manager for east Norfolk, Diane Chan, said: “It is always pleasing to receive such praise from members of the public.  Michael’s kind, caring and reassuring attitude clearly made a lasting impression on the family.  Well done Michael you truly deserved this award.”

From all of us, well done Michael!
