Norwich EOC gearing up for new CAD

Call handler HEOC

The new Cleric CAD is due to be implemented in Norwich EOC in the early hours of Wednesday morning (17th February).

At midnight, Norwich EOC will begin migrating over to the new CAD system. Call handling and dispatching for Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire (NSC) will remain within the Norwich EOC. Operational staff should not notice any significant difference as the Norwich staff will continue to dispatch for the NSC area. There will be additional EOC staff on duty to support this transition.

By 3am, it is planned that Norwich EOC will be ready to go ‘live’ on the new Cleric CAD. At this point, all Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire resources will be moved onto the new CAD. Staff will be notified, at various points during the shift, when key changes are taking places using MDT and Airwave radios.

A full operational plan has been put together for next week which includes a command and control structure involving silver cells in all three localities and additional bronze support in all SLM areas. The Trust has decided to maximise operational cover during this go live and transitional period.

All operational vehicles in all localities are required to carry current copies of map books for use if the mobile data is not functioning as normal during the migration. Should at any point we lose connectivity with the MDT, addresses can be input manually into the SatNav. Please see the ‘How to use the vehicle SatNav manually’ advice.

Please consider EOC colleagues throughout the shift. This will be a challenging time for EOC colleagues and we would appreciate your consideration and support for them. It may take a little longer than normal to respond to your requests and those you are working with in EOC may be less familiar with your area than usual.

Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, alongside Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, will then continue to operate using Cleric whilst the Essex locality continues on the Intergraph CAD until they also migrate in early March.

Please also note that the IT teams are focused in delivering this vital project so other requests for assistance or work may be delayed or deferred whilst the CAD project is prioritised. Please bear with IT staff whilst they work through this period.
