Ops Update - High levels of lost tympanic thermometers

OPS UPDATE

An ops update is now available regarding the high levels of lost or missing tympanic thermometers.

Through monitoring of incidents, it has been identified that there is an increasing number of tympanic thermometers that have been reported as lost/missing. Since the beginning of March there has been a total of 191. This is far more than what would be expected in terms of breakages or loss.

The current breakdown of figures across the operational areas show this varies across the region

We would ask that these devices are treated and taken care of in the same way we would look after some of more obviously valuable equipment such as the corpuls. Without them, patient assessment can become more complex. Please ensure that if a loss has occurred that this is reported in timely fashion.

The Ops Update is available to download here.
