Ops update - Overtime incentive

The Trust needs to increase resourcing and fleet availability to support patient safety in the community. In addition to other measures to optimise patient-facing time, an overtime incentive will run as follows:

Eligible staff group
All staff providing A&E service, EOC, PTS and operations support.

Period of incentive
The incentive payment will apply for fully completed overtime shifts of eight hours or more
starting on the Thursday (today, 22nd February) day shift and ending on the Monday 5th March night shift (inclusive).

Additional payment:

• From Monday day shift to Thursday night shift (inclusive) - £100 per shift
• From Friday day shift to Sunday night shift (inclusive) - £200 per shift
• Operational support extended daily hours by four hours - £50.

Payment eligibility
• All part time, full time and bank staff
• No absence*, except annual leave from 22nd Feb - 5th March
• Overtime will be managed to ensure additional staffing is put out where and when needed.

*Individual cases will be reviewed by a senior manager in line with a pre-agreed exception criteria to cover matters
e.g. under the equality act/disability policy.

To claim the payment, you will need to submit a form in line with the normal payroll cut off deadline to be authorised by the relevant senior manager for your area (to whom any queries should also be directed). Colleagues are reminded to ensure no breach of the working time directive when booking shifts.
