Out-of-service code changes

Transparent EEAST crest

Following feedback from staff, a number of new out-of-service codes have been established to better support staff. They follow the recent addition of the out-of-service code to complete formal police statements

The following codes have now been implemented:

  • complex EPCR – when  an extensive EPCR is required for a complex case, such as active resuscitation
  • clinical debrief – when a clinical debrief is requested by a manager following a specific incident
  • mentoring debrief – when a nominated mentor requests an additional period of time to debrief a student paramedic – expected only to occur a maximum of once per shift.

Please note you must book clear on the MDT unit first and then make a speech request to EOC for any out –of-service reason. This will enable EOC to better manage incoming 999 calls.
