Out of service move begins tomorrow

As of 29th April 2020 there will be a trial where the initial management of out of service (OOS) will be returned to the your local AOC dispatch channel.

This means that if you wish to book out of service you will no longer need to call channel 20 and instead will contact your normal dispatcher who will manage your request in line with the currently agreed codes. Following this date, channel 20 will not be monitored and all such requests will need to go via your dispatcher.

The purpose of this trial is to review how the management of OOS will enable dispatch teams to plan ahead for the deployment of the resources to support staff welfare and timely patient responses within their area and how this affects local working. To better understand this, we may introduce or amend changes to the current out of service codes which will be closely monitored including any potential impact on OOS times/types in local areas and effect on the workload of dispatchers.
