Pension Automatic Re-enrolment

NHS Pensions

To help people save for their retirement, all employers are now required by law to provide a workplace pension scheme for certain staff and pay money into it. We will next be doing this on the 1st August 2019.

We will enrol you into a workplace pension scheme on the 1st August 2019, if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • You earn over £192 per week (or £833 per month)
  • You are aged 22 or over
  • You are under state pension age
  • You left a pension scheme prior to 1st August 2018

You may opt out of the pension scheme if you want to, but if you stay in, you will have your own pension when you retire. Your pension will belong to you, even if you leave the Trust in the future.

We will not be able to assess exactly which staff will be enrolled into a pension scheme, until after the Payroll has been run at the end of August. Therefore further details will be sent to you, with your August payslip, if you have met the above criteria, along with instructions on how to opt out.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to opt out before the enrolment notice has been issued to you.
