People and Vehicle Hub Norfolk Trial

Chelmsford EOC

People and Vehicle Support Hub: trial starts tomorrow.

We’re really pleased to be trying out a new radio channel, trialled for Norfolk crews, from Friday (21st) so they can directly interact with the People and Vehicle Support Hub (PVSH).

Based in the Tactical Operational Cell (TOC – formerly the RCC) in Chelmsford, the PVSH will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Hub will focus on ensuring staff welfare needs are met and also on removing the barriers that create unnecessary downtime

We will:

  • ensure every attempt is made to reduce late finishes for our operational staff
  • provide a ‘first point of contact’ following a difficult or traumatic job
  • be the first point of contact for any request to book out of service
  • assistance and the management of breakdowns in collaboration with the local management teams
  • review and manage out of service at local hospitals
  • provide support in helping crews booking on duty at the commencement of their shift
  • support local managers and staff in welfare related matters
  • provide a reporting tool to managers throughout their shift.

Over the coming weeks the People and Vehicle Support Managers will be visiting AOCs and stations so that you can meet the team and to raise awareness.

If you have any queries or suggestions please feel free to contact the team on EOCPVSH@eastamb.nhs.uk.
