Peterborough man thanks fantastic staff for saving his life

A football fan has been reunited with his life-savers at the ground where he had a cardiac arrest just weeks ago.

Paul Starr, 56, collapsed whilst going to get a half time cup of coffee at a Peterborough United football game on 18th October.

The 56-year-old Posh fan returned to the club on Saturday (10th December) and thanked the ambulance staff who resuscitated him.

He was reunited with Clinical Area Lead Dan Phillips, who was volunteering for Magpas on the day Paul collapsed, and Del Ferguson, Mark Chapman and Mark Parnell.

Paul, returning to Peterborough United to watch Saturday’s game from the directors’ box, said: “It is absolutely wonderful to have that opportunity to thank the ambulance team and the Magpas team and the football club have been fantastic.

“It was a bit surreal to look over to that stand and to think what had happened on that day.”

His interview on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on Monday is one hour and 46 minutes into this http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04h5lmj
