Peterborough paramedics take on 'rock solid' challenge

Two paramedics from Peterborough are taking on a ‘rock solid’ challenge in order to raise money for charity in September.

Paramedcis Chris McGregor and Ollie Brook, based at Peterborough, will be taking part in the gruelling Rock Solid Race in Milton Keynes on 20th September, and with obstacles with names such as ‘hurdles from hell’ they’re in for a tough day.

“We wanted to do something that would be more difficult than your average run,” said Chris, who has worked at EEAST for six years. “We’re doing it for two fantastic causes, the local Sue Ryder Hospice and Arthritis UK, and we hope the money that we raise will really make a difference to people’s lives,” he added.

Training is well underway, with the pair trying to fit in as many different sessions as possible around their day job of saving lives. Ollie said: “We’ve reluctantly started training, combining long and short runs with gym sessions and obstacles. We’re both really looking forward to the challenge and most importantly we’re hoping to raise a lot of money for each of these well deserving causes.”
