PTS couple win award!

Stuart and Sally Ronayne

We are a husband and wife who work on the Cambridgeshire Patient Transport Services (PTS) management team and are based at The Paddocks in Cambridge; a small but vital PTS station, working mainly with Addenbrookes hospital, as the southern sector of the PTS Cambridgeshire contract.

We both started on the road as Ambulance Care Assistants (ACAs) around 15 years ago (where our eyes first met over a resus Annie!) and The Paddocks soon became a major part of our lives. We began to invest our time and effort into it, and along with the help of a group of core members of our staff, have now hopefully made it into a friendly, welcoming and well run station that the we are all proud to work at and be part of.

The award for ‘Exceptional PTS managers’ was a complete surprise and we are proud of the recognition for our work, but are also extremely humbled by the plaudits we have received, especially as we feel we are just doing our job to the best of our ability.

The work that we do would not be possible without the strong network of staff that support us. From our inspirational manager Amanda, who keeps us firmly focused, to our friends and colleagues in control and around the many stations in Cambridgeshire, that help with mileages, keep us updated with operational issues, help with the movement of vehicles and adapt their shifts to cover operational demand without complaint.

So although our names are on the award, it really is a team effort and therefore we accept it on behalf of all of those around us who go above and beyond, which enables us to go the extra mile for PTS Cambridgeshire. Thank you to you all - you know who you are! 😊

All the best,

Sally and Stuart
