Trust Chair, Nicola Scrivings, relaunches EEAST Women's Network and asks for staff support

Nicola Scrivings

First, many thanks to everyone for your hard work and commitment during the last few months.

Whilst there is still much that keeps us busy, I do hope that the easing of some of the lock-down measures means that you can reconnect with your family and friends in ways which lighten the load.

It has always been important to the Trust to ensure that our workplace offers equal opportunity for everyone to achieve their potential in a harmonious environment, and this remains a key focus for us all. So, I was delighted to be asked to be the Non-Executive Champion of the All Women East (AWE) group. This groups’ key focus is to work to unlock barriers to equal progression and support for women, and celebrate the contribution that women make to our organisation and within the wider community.

Many of you are already actively working with each other on some great initiatives – I was very excited by the energy and commitment of many EEAST staff I met at International Women’s Day just before the lock-down. It is now time for us though to regroup and think about the priorities for this group going forward.

So, I would like to hear from anyone that would either like to be involved in shaping the future of this group or has suggestions for what the group could focus on. We are also seeking volunteers for the roles of Chair, Deputy Chair and Secretary and hope to establish these roles quickly. It is anticipated that the network will meet four times a year

If you are interested in the roles, or would like to be involved, please email me at with your ideas or expressions of interest. The deadline for responding is 31st July 2020. I will get back to you shortly after that date.

I would love to hear from you and work with you to shape our plan.
